IAOK Educational Outreach |
IAOK had a wonderful volunteering opportunity to help the students of the Western Gateway Elementary School of OKC learn about the culture, language, music, food, and festivals of India. Mrs. Meera Reddy and Dr. Uma Rao read a motivational story, followed by a Q&A. Mrs. Dipika Soni did a cooking demonstration where the kids got to learn how to cook an Indian meal and then got to taste the food! Nishi Shah did a dance workshop and spoke about the languages, dance forms, and major festivals of India, specifically about Diwali. We are thankful to the school director of educational services, Ms. Brittney Santos for reaching out and inviting us to do a partnership with them on a school-wide study of India! Happy to share a few glimpses of our presentations. |
